MORRIS --Morris Area High School student Jude Pelowski has won the Minnesota Youth Art Month Flag Design. Pelowski's flag design and statement on art will be displayed at the Art Educators of Minnesota Capitol Art Show from March 24 to March 30.
Pelowski's art statement, “What Art Means to Me,” explains his perspective on art: “To me everything is art. Just the way I see things it’s all art. Like words on paper, art in any form is thoughts, but instead of getting your point across by words you use art. Art can show feelings and thoughts simply by how the artists see things. Anyone can say how they feel but only the best artists can picture how they feel. Everyday my art improves more and more like knowledge the skill of art is infinite. I now realize how art shapes the world. It’s everything everywhere. Anything you look at is line, rhythm, shades, and pattern.”
The MSHSL Region 6A South Art Show will be on display at the University of Minnesota, Morris Art Gallery from Friday, March 15 through Thursday, March 21. The Morris Area High School Art Department will have 18 students' artwork on display, along with the artwork from nine other schools.
On Thursday, March 21, students will come from all ten schools to view the artwork, complete the Bones for the One Million Bones project, receive their awards and then take down the show.
The UMM Art Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
