
Morris Tiger Sharks wrap up summer season
The first swim meet of the season was held June 15-16 at Fergus Falls.
Kalley Johnson swam in five events in the girls' 11-12 division. She placed first in the 100 breast with a time of 1:43.89; fourth in the 50 breast with a time of 48.19; she was fifth in both the 50 free (39.20) and 100 free (1:35.22) and ninth in the 50 back with a time of 1:43.89.
Agnes Dieter also competed in the girls' 11-12 age group. She took first in the 50 free with a time of 32.08; first in the 50 back with a time of 38.1 and first in the 100 back with a time of 1:21.26.
Vaughn Dieter swam in two events the boys' 15-16 division, placing first in both the 200 free (2:19.68) and the 200 back (2:43.24).
The annual Lake Swim and Pool Sprints competition was held June 22-24 in Alexandria.
Katie Folkman took first in the girls' 11-12 year old 50 free with a time of 32.78. She also placed first in the 50 back with a time of 38.09. She placed seventh in the 100 breast with a time of 1:38.84.
Katie Ohren swam in the girls' 13-14 age group. She placed sixth in the 200 IM with a time of 3:49.94. She took eighth in the 50 free with a time of 40.70. She also competed in the 100 breast, recording a time of 1:56.03.
Agnes Dieter took second place in the girls' 13 & over 50 free (33.49) and the 100 IM (1:27.09). She placed ninth in the 100 back (1:24.87) and took ninth in her first ever half-mile lake swim with a time of 16:23.0.
Vaughn Dieter had two firsts in this meet in the 200 free (2:18.81) and the 100 free (1:02.0). He placed second in the 100 back with a time of 1:10.75 and was sixth in the mile lake swim with a time of 29:03.0.
Morris hosted a Northern Lights Swim Association meet on June 30.
Sequoia Wycoff swam in her first competition in the girls' 9-10 age group. She placed eighth in the 50 free with a time of 56.83.
Teresa Boyd swam in the girls' 11-12 age group. She placed seventh in the 50 back with a time of 56.43. She had a time of 50.1 in the 50 free.
Abbigail McNally competed in the girls' 11-12 age group. She took fifth in the 100 IM, with a time of 1:44.29 and seventh in the 50 free with a time of 36.67.
Nyah Mueller swam in three events in the girls' 11-12 age group. She placed fifth in the 50 back with a time of 56.06; seventh in the 50 breast with a time of 1:02.03 and eighth in the 50 free with a time of 38.76.
Agnes Dieter swam four events at this meet in the girls' 13-14 age group. She placed second in the 100 back with a time of 1:22.99, placed third in the 50 free with a time of 32.05; was third in the 100 free with a time of 1:15.54; and placed third in the 100 IM with a time of 1:28.83.
Owen McCannon swan in the boys' age 9-10 group. He took second in the 25 fly with a time of 31.36; fourth in the 50 free with a time of 47.62; and was fourth in the 50 back with a time of 1:00.39.
Ethan Mueller had three first place finishes in the boys' 9-10 year-olds competition. They included the 25 free (23.12); the 25 fly (30.31); and the 25 back (25.91). Additionally, he placed fifth in the 50 free with a time of 57.77.
Vaughn Dieter took first in the boys' 15-16 age group in the 200 free with a time of 2:17.93. He also had second place finishes in the 100 back (1:09.55) and the 100 free (1:00.47).
Hutchinson hosted the next swim meet on July 7.
Agnes Dieter swam in four events, taking a first, two thirds and sixth place. She took first in the 100 free, with a time of 1:15.1; third in the 100 IM (1:25.55) and 100 back (1:23.31).
Vaughn Dieter placed third in the 200 free with a time of 2:20.59; third in the 100 back (1:10.44) and fourth in the 100 free (1:00.98).
The conference finals were held July 17 in Fergus Falls.
Agnes Dieter took first in the girls' 13-14 year old 100 free with a time of 1:13.7. She placed second in the 100 back with a time of 1:25.52 and took fifth in the 50 free with a time of 33.19.
Vaughn Dieter had two firsts at this meet, winning the boys' 15 & over 100 back with a time of 1:08.83 and the 200 free in a time of 2:22.66. He also placed fourth in the 100 free with a time of 1:02.49.
