The Morris Area/ Chokio-Alberta girls' basketball team opened the 2010-11 season with a 58-36 road loss at Osakis Thursday.
"Our defense played well in the first half, and we rebounded tough on the Silverstreaks' cold shooting," said first-year head coach Dale Henrich.
"The second half found Osakis shooting much better and they also out-rebounded us getting many second shots," Henrich added.
The Tigers were 12-of-45 from the floor and hit 10 of 21 at the free-throw line.
"The Tigers' shooting needs improvement," Henrich said. "We also had 35 turnovers, which will make it very difficult to win games."
Elizabeth Helberg led the Tigers with 11 rebounds.
Beth Holland was the leader in the scoring column with eight, followed by Shadow Olson with seven points.
