
Morris/CA outlasts Monte
MONTEVIDEO -- Balanced scoring on the front line led Morris/Chokio-Alberta to a five-game victory over Montevideo on Tuesday in West Central South Conference volleyball.
Sydney?Engebretson and Terianne Itzen had 9 kills each while Nicole Strobel and Paige Schieler got 8 each out of their attacks.
The Thunder Hawks countered at the line with 15 kills by Ashley Hoehne, 8 by Dani Emkes and 7 apiece from Kendyl Anderson and Alyssa Doty.
Montevideo took the first game 25-18, but the Tigers came right back to win by the same score in Game 2. The Thunder Hawks went up again 2-1, but Morris/CA finished out 25-22 and 15-8 in the fifth game.
