Myrtle V. Kuehn, 97, died at Sanford Palliative Care on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from complications from a stroke. She was a loving mother and mother-in-law, and will be deeply missed.
Myrtle Victoria Barsness was born on December 30, 1915 to Carl and Betsy (Lerdahl) Barsness, in Cyrus, Minn. She grew up in Cyrus and attended school through the 11th grade. Myrtle married Ervin L. Kuehn on May 12, 1940 in Cyrus. They had two sons, Gerald (Jerry) and James.
Myrtle was a homemaker and also worked retail. She enjoyed square dancing, sewing crafts, and cooking. She also enjoyed volunteering her time with the Ladies Aid at church.
Myrtle is survived by her son, Jerry, Fargo, N.D.; and daughter-in-law, Alice Marx-Kuehn, West Fargo, N.D. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ervin; son, James; sister, Cecelia Strand; and brother, Burdell Barsness.
Myrtle's family would like to thank the staff at Sanford Health and Sanford Palliative Care for their expert care and compassion.
A Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, at Peace Lutheran Church, Fargo. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial is at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
