April is designated as the month of the military child. Millions of military children are adversely affected by the absence of a loved one who is deployed. There are few resources available to help the child positively cope with this challenge.

You and Your Military Hero was created by Sara Jensen-Fritz, Paula Jones-Johnson and Thea L. Zitzow of the Detroit Lakes area. These education professionals developed this resource to provide positive coping tools for military children (ages 5-12) as they live their "new normal."

You and Your Military Hero has special features such as a friendly dog, Flipp, who guides the child through original games and activities on this journey towards positive thinking.

"As people and professionals we care about children and are interested in using our expertise in helping children in any way possible," says Sara Jensen-Fritz.

National organizations such as National Military Family Association and the Military Child Education Coalition have given positive reviews of this resource. Recently, Sara, Paul and Thea were invited to be guest speakers at the Military Child Education Coalition Annual Conference in Philadelphia this July.
