NLS too much for Tigers

Ryan Vraa made 6 of 8 three-point attempts on the way to scoring 24 points and Shane Zylstra added another 18 points Tuesday to help New London-Spicer topple Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 68-50.

The undefeated Wildcats led from the get-go to open a 20-6 lead before taking a 33-27 advantage at the half. The Wildcats’ lead never dipped below double figures in the second half.

Vraa also collected five assists and five steals, Zylstra four assists and four steals, and Brett Olson nine points and nine rebounds.

Eric Staebler’s game-high 27 points and eight rebounds paced the winless Tigers. C.J. Nagel added seven rebounds and Andrew Goulet three steals.

The Tigers are off until Dec. 27 when they are at the two-day St. James Invite.
