No. 2 Tiger boys on collision course with top-ranked NL-S
Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta stands alone on top of the West Central Conference South boys' basketball standings after defeating Minnewaska 72-51 Thursday.
The Tigers, a perfect 7-0 in the conference and 12-0 overall, are the No. 2 team in Class AA.
On Monday, the Tigers will face West Central Conference and section rival New London-Spicer, the top-ranked team in Class AA.
Against the Lakers, the Tigers led 33-22 at halftime and dominated the boards, 31-15.
The Lakers fall into a second-place tie with Montevideo at 5-1 after the loss.
Cory Hennen scored a season-high 22 points to lead the Tigers and dished out five assists. Lincoln Arnold added 13 points.
On the glass, Jackson Henrich collected seven rebounds and Corey Nohl had six.
Ben Peters paced the Lakers with 17 points. Shane Bosek had 12 points and six rebounds.
