Owls play Parkers Prairie tonight in sub-section final
The top-seeded Owls will meet No. 2 Parkers Prairie tonight at 8 p.m. at UM-Morris in the Section 6A-South girls' basketball final.
Hancock beat Parkers Prairie 62-40 on Feb. 24.
Hancock's tournament run started Thursday with a 64-51 victory over No. 8 Wheaton/Herman-Norcross.
Kendra Schmidgall had 20 points and Courtney Greiner and Aria Walstad each netted 13 more to lead Hancock's attack. Walstad also had six assists and four steals.
In the sub-section semifinals on Saturday, Hancock defeated Hillcrest Lutheran Academy 50-33.
Hancock had the same amount of points from the field and the free-throw line and had three players score in double figures en route to upending fourth-seeded Hillcrest.
Greiner led Hancock with 15 points while Schmidgall and Illissa Koehl both scored 14 more. The Owls were 25-for-35 from the free-throw line and were 12-for-39 from the field with one three-pointer.
Schmidgall also grabbed 10 rebounds and Walstad added five assists and four steals.
