Dakota Access Pipeline resistance camp cleared as officers arrest 33 protesters

Phillip "Pete" Mihm

Phillip "Pete" Mihm passed away peacefully on July 2, 2010, at age 79. Preceded in death by wife, Beatrice; parents, A.C. "Charlie" & Mary Mihm; siblings, Clara, Mary, George; brothers in law, Robert Stanley, Richard Hemish, Fremont Peterson, Darwin Carr, Daniel Marczak. Will be remembered by children, Martha (Keith) Baker, Peter (Donna) Mihm, Anne Mihm; grandchildren, Brian and Jack; siblings, Mathilda (Norbert) Phillips, Beverly Peterson, Martha Carr, Zita Marczak, Kathleen (Dennis) Schisler, John Mihm & many nieces, nephews, family & friends.

Pete grew up on a farm near Ivanhoe. He married Beatrice "Bea" Brindley in 1962. They farmed near Clear Lake, S.D.; Miltona and finally near Morris. He also worked at Hancock Concrete for 35 years, retiring at age 74. He enjoyed farming, working, gardening, chopping wood and attending church. He was a gentle and kind man. He provided financial aid to many children in India and Asia through Catholic relief organizations.

A Mass of christian burial will be held Thursday, July 8 at 1 p.m., at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 111 North Sherwood St., Ivanhoe. Interment at Church Cemetery.
