APPLETON -- Pioneer Public Television threw the switch Monday morning and began broadcasting with its new antenna and transmitter.

It follows several weeks of work to install new equipment at the station's KWCM tower site near Appleton.

"Viewers who watch KWCM-Appleton over-the-air using a rooftop or set-top antenna will notice the change immediately," Pioneer Chief Engineer Jon Panzer stated in a news release.

Over-the-air viewers will need to perform a channel scan to regain the signal. The new signal will reach a larger area.

The new KWCM channels will come through as digital channel 10-1 to 10-4.

For more information about receiving Pioneer's signal, viewers may contact Pioneer at 1-800-726-3178, send an e-mail to yourtv@pioneer.org, or write to the station at Pioneer, 120 West Schlieman, Appleton, MN 56208.
