Police stop burglary in downtown Alexandria

Three suspects were arrested early Tuesday morning for an alleged attempted burglary at The Faction, 612 Broadway in Alexandria.

Alexandria police officers responded to the board shop at about 12:50 a.m. to investigate a call from a concerned resident about suspicious activity in the area.

This led to the arrest of three Alexandria males - 18-year-old Bryr Thomas Nelson and two 17-year-old juveniles.

According to authorities, the three were trying to get into the building by cutting through glass.

Nelson was charged with second-degree attempted burglary and fourth degree damage to property. The two juveniles were expected to face similar charges, according to authorities.

Nelson posted $500 bail and was released from the Douglas County Jail on Wednesday
