Public hearing for Hancock referendum set for Dec. 10

A special election has been called for Independent School District No. 768, Hancock Public Schools, for the purpose of voting on the approval of a school district bond. The election will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at the Hancock School. Voting hours will be from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Voters will be asked to vote yes or no to authorized the district to issue general obligation school building bonds in an amount not to exceed $5.4 million. The funds would be used for construction of new classrooms, equipping classrooms, renovation, repair, remodeling, upgrading and equipping existing school facilities.

A public hearing about the referendum will take place on Monday, Dec. 10 at the school starting at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend the hearing to answer questions and learn more about the bond issue.
