Record office moving to Morris
by Katie Erdman
The Hancock Record office on main street in Hancock will be closing as of Oct. 1, 2009 and the staff will have a new location in the Morris SunTribune building at 607 Pacific Ave. in Morris.
Economic concerns coupled with the change in the way people often do business are two of the main reasons for the change.
Operation, production and distribution costs in the newspaper industry have been rising for years, while the recent economic downturn has reduced advertising revenue and other sources of income.
By reducing overhead costs, the Hancock Record can continue to publish each week.
While the location will change, the phone number and mailing address for the Record will remain the same. You can call us at 320-392-5527. You can also continue to contact us through the mail at Hancock Record, P.O. Box 425, Hancock, MN 56244.
We will continue to mail the newspapers out of the Hancock post office with no change in the mailing procedure.
Our email addresses will also remain the same. To send us articles, pictures, photos or requests you can contact us at: email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. Email contact may become one of the best ways to keep in touch with us.
For all our customers who like to drop off their renewals, payments or news items, we will set up a drop box located at the Hancock Co-op Gas Station. There will also continue to be a drop box in the school office. Katie will be checking these daily.
Basically the only noticeable change will be in our location. The Hancock Record will continue to publish each Thursday and cover all the same events as have been covered in the past.
We will also continue to post articles, photos and columns from the Record on our website at www.hancockrecord.com.
Readers who have questions about the new Hancock Record location can contact us at (320) 392-5527 or via email at email@example.com.
