Red River board to host public meetings in Detroit Lakes

DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – The International Red River Board will host an open house at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Holiday Inn.

The purpose of the meeting is to present a brief overview of IRRB activities and objectives pertaining to water management in the Red River basin.

Attendees will also be able to ask questions and discuss current issues affecting the Red River basin, such as drought, flooding, water quality, ecosystem health and the transfer of invasive species.

The public is also invited to listen to discussions among federal, state and provincial agencies, as well as local organizations, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Holiday Inn.
