Reminders from Hancock Police Department
The Hancock Police Department would like to remind pet owners in the City of Hancock that according to city ordinance 360.02 subd. 2 and 4, all dogs kept, harbored or maintained by their owners in the city must be licensed. If you were not able to purchase a license at the pet clinics, you may do so at the Hancock City Office.
Similarly, property owners who have over three dogs need to obtain a kennel license. The fee for 3-5 dogs is $50 and 6-10 dogs is $150.
The police department is asking that pet owners obtain the licenses before June 15 and must provide proof of rabies shots at the time of license purchase.
Another city ordinance the the police department will be enforcing this summer if the Junk Vehicle ordinance. A junk vehicle is defined as any vehicle which is in inoperable condition, extensively damaged, missing parts, or otherwise meets the definition of 168B.011 of the Minnesota Statues.
