Richard "Dick" Mogler
Memorial services for Richard A. Mogler will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Federated Church in Morris. Reverend Hilda Parks officiated.
Richard (Dick) Mogler was bom on July 17, 1927 in Glenwood. Dick lived on a farm south of Morris with his parents Joe and Anna (Sommerfeld) Mogler. He served in the Army from 1946 to 1947, stationed at Fort Randall on the Aleutian Islands in Alaska.
Dick married Greta DeLong on Jan. 7, 1949. They lived in Morris where Dick worked at the Chandler Wilbert Vault Company for 38 years.
He worked in a variety of other jobs including advertising and monument sales.
Throughout the years, Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, dancing, coin collecting, traveling, woodworking and listening to old time music on Saturday evenings.
Dick did volunteer work for the American Legion Boy Scout Troop and the food shelf. He was a member of the Federated Church and the American Legion.
Dick died on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010 in Morris having lived to reach the age of 82 years.
Dick is survived by Greta of Morris; four children - Carol Norgaard of Minneapolis, Marilyn (Lee) Gilbertson of Minneapolis, Jim of Marathon, Fla., and Mike of Hancock; ten grandchildren - Scott, Paul, Sarah, Darek, Jason, Christi, Karia, Elizabeth, Meghan and Eric; two step grandchildren, Tim and Phil; seventeen great grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Mohrman, Phoenix, Ariz.
Dick was preceded in death by two sons, Robert (1950) and Richard L. (2004) and two great grandchildren.
