Ritchie to speak at DFL's annual Beanfeed Oct. 13
Minnesota Secretary of State Mark Ritchie will be the featured speaker at the Stevens County DFL's Fall Fundraiser and Beanfeed.
The annual Fall Fundraiser and Beanfeed is Monday, Oct. 13, with doors opening at 5:30 pm, at the Morris American Legion.
House District 11A candidate Bruce Campbell is expected to speak, and DFL candidates from around the region have been invited to attend.
In addition to his current service as Minnesota Secretary of State, Ritchie has a long history of involvement in agriculture and rural issues. For more than 20 years, Ritchie was president of the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy, which worked to encourage economic growth and environmental sustainability in greater Minnesota.
Ritchie also worked in the state's Department of Agriculture under Gov. Rudy Perpich. In 2003, Ritchie led National Voice, a nation-wide, non-partisan effort to increase voter participation and civic engagement.
