Ronald Lawson, age 63, passed away Feb. 24, 2011 at his home in Golden CO. Memorial Services will be held March 19 in Colorado.
Ron was born July 9, 1947 in Morris, and is the son of Ida Lawson and the late Floyd Lawson. Ron graduated from Alberta High School. He left the rural Alberta farm life and moved to Minneapolis where he began his career in heavy equipment and auto body paint and repair.
Ron served his country as an AP (Air Police) in the Air Force from 1967-1971. He spent one year of his service on an isolated base in Turkey and three years in Minot N.D.
Ron married his wife Judy on March 13, 1967 and their two children, Shelley and Mike, were born while they lived in North Dakota. After the Air Force they moved to the Norwood area.
Ron was active in PTA, coaching football, cub scouts, and was a Commander in the Naval Sea Cadet program.
In 1997 they moved to Golden, Colo. where Ron took a job with his two youngest brothers, Roger and Douglas. A heart attack in 2000 rendered him disabled and forced him into early retirement.
He is survived by his wife Judy, his daughter Shelley, his son Michael, 3 grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, and Faith, his mother, Ida Lawson of Morris, his sisters Eleanor Greenway, Jeanette Lawson and Judy Wood and his four brothers Duane, Gary, Roger and Douglas, an uncle, Royal Lawson of Hoffman, and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd, and infant brother Alvin, and an infant sister Beverly.
