Ron was a man who had a deep and active passion for the great outdoors. He deeply loved the beauty of nature and wildlife and he lived every moment of his life with endless enthusiasm and energy doing something that reflected that passion.

Ron was an expert sportsman, and he very much enjoyed teaching other outdoor enthusiasts, especially the younger ones about the secrets and tips he has used so well over the years. One of Ron's proudest accomplishments was a Colorado hunt where he bagged a Boone and Crockett record mule deer buck.

Those who knew and loved Ron will forever miss him a little more during each hunting season, fishing opener, and on Christmas day -- his favorite ice fishing day.

Ron is survived by his wife, Pat Lewis of Frazee; daughter, Ronda (Kreg) Kercher of West Fargo; son Tony (Tracey) Lewis of Wenatchee, Wash.; and daughters Marilyn of Moorhead, Terri of Hanford, Calif., and Julie (Dave) Richter of Bethel, Mo.; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two grand dogs, Gunner and Timber.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his only brother, Daryll Jerome "Nibs" Lewis, whom he dearly loved and missed his entire life; and a grandson, Ryan.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7 at Community Alliance Church, Perham.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Furey Funeral Home, Frazee.
