Roy E. Benham
Funeral services for Roy E. Benham will be held Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson with Rev. Mark Benham officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Benson City Cemetery.
Roy Evrend Benham was born May 27, 1914, in Montevideo, MN the son of Herbert and Anna Mae Mitchell Benham. He grew up in the Montevideo area and attended grade school there. At the age of fifteen the family moved to a farm north of Danvers. He farmed there until 1969 when he was disabled in a farm accident. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid reader and enjoyed doing the daily crossword puzzles. He was called from this life on Saturday, September 06, 2008 at the Swift County Benson Hospital. He attained the age of 94 years, 3 months, and 10 days.
He is survived by a brother Leo, (Lillian) Benham of Morris, MN; a sister in law Bernice Benham of Benson, MN; nieces and nephews, Susan (Scott) Buss, Mark Benham, Beth (Dean) Bourne, Myrna (Terry) Hoffa, Sandra Benham, Ann (Gary) Nelson, Bonnie (Ray T.) Smith, James Benham, Thomas LouAnn) Benham, Marilyn (Tom) Lee, Jerry (Sherry) Schnitzler, Judy Schnitzler, Joe Schnitzler, Dan (Margaret) Strickler, Mike(Anita) Strickler, and Randy (Gail) Strickler; 22 great nieces and nephews, and 30 great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Wesley Benham, two sisters Ellen Schnitzler and Erma Strickler, and a sister in infancy, Helen Benham.
