A complicated knot of traffic involving Interstate-94 exit and entrance ramps, County Road 45 and Highway 27 West near Alexandria is now safer. A new signal system was completed ahead of schedule and is directing vehicles through the busy tangle of traffic. The $182,000 project is getting a good reception from motorists. "It's created a nice flow for what used to be a
terribly chaotic intersection," said one local driver in an e-mail to the Echo Press newspaper.
