Kayla Marie Schmaedeka and Justin Mark Janachovsky were united in marriage on Saturday, July 15 at 4:30 p.m. The outdoor ceremony was held at Blackberry Ridge Golf Club in Sartell with Chaplin Pat Guennin officiating. A dinner and dance reception followed at Blackberry Ridge. Immediately following the wedding celebrations, the couple traveled to Tahiti for their two week honeymoon.
Kayla is the daughter of Jim and Lori Schmaedeka of Clara City. She is the granddaughter of Selma Schmaedeka, the late Vem Schmaedeka and the late Marvin and Julene Howard. Justin is son of Mark and Karen Janachovsky of Morris. He is the grandson of Milfred and Janice Kaehler and Raymond and Norma Janachovsky.
The bride's friend, Alexis Leezer, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Cynthia Priebe, friend of the bride; Jennifer Koenen, friend of the bride; and Melinda Janachovsky, sister of the groom. The flower girl was Alyssa Schmaedeka, second cousin of the bride. Eric Smith, lifelong friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Gregory Pohlkamp, friend of the groom; Patrick Janachovsky, brother of the groom and Joshua Schmaedeka, brother of the bride.
The ring bearer was Cole Brandner, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Dana Beasley, Chad Rand, Carl Janachovsky and Matthew Wesner.
Kayla is a 2002 graduate of MACCRAY High School and a 2006 graduate of St. Cloud State University with a bachelor of science degree in mass communications - advertising. She is currently an account assistant at Hot Dish Advertising in Minneapolis. Justin is a 2000 graduate of Morris Area High School and is currently working as a carpenter for Superior Building in Excelsior. The couple is living in Bloomington.
