Second-half rally leads Wildcats over Tigers
New London-Spicer rallied from a 14-point halftime deficit to tip Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta 78-74 in a non-conference boys' basketball game Tuesday.
Wildcat Jayme Moten scored 23 of his game-high 32 points in the second half. The Wildcats took the lead with 3:15 left to play and didn't give it back.
The Tigers used 32-of-53 shooting to take early control. The Wildcats hit 26 of 53 shots. The differene came from three-point range where the Tigers were 6-of-13 and the Wildcats were 11-of-27.
At the free-throw line, the Wildcats put in 15 of 25 compared to just four of six for the Tigers.
The Tigers did outrebound the Wildcats 33-20.
Moten sank six three-pointers. Brandon Zylstra added 16 points and Joey Dreier had 12.
Cole Riley recorded a double-double with 26 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Tigers. Daniel Tiernan added 14 points, Tyler Roske had 12, and Mac Kampmeier chipped in 11.
Eric Riley had a team-high seven assists.
With the loss the Tigers drop to 10-4 on the season. The Wildcats are 11-4.
