The Morris Area boys' swimming and diving team continued to improve times at Detroit Lakes Tuesday where the Tigers were defeated 144-35.
Seven Tigers dropped time at the meet including Vaughn Dieter in the 200 and 500 freestyles; Jacob Johnson in the 50 free; Matt Athey in the 50 free; Sawyer Marthaler in the 50 free; Brandon Pry in the 100 free; Peter Ericksen in the 100 free; and Mitch Kill in the 100 breaststroke.
In the 200 medley relay the Tigers' A team of Roy Reese, Mickey Cotter, Gage Anderson, and Travis Mithun placed third with a time of 2:07.75, while the B team of Peter Ericksen, Mitch Kill, Thomas Roberts, and Brandon Pry placed fifth in 2:29.04.
In the 200 freestyle, Reese finished second in 2:09.57, while Vaughn Dieter placed sixth in 2:27.05.
In the 50 free, eight Tigers participateed with Anderson taking second in 26.97, Roberts taking seventh in 30.35, Mitch Kill placing eighth in 30.82, Jacob Johnson finishing 11th in 32.97, Taylor Hufford in 12th with a 34.47, Mike Rausch in 15th with a 40.62, Matt Athey in 16th with a 1:06.92, and Sawyer Marthaler in 17th with a 1:12.83.
In diving Travis Mithun placed fourth with a score of 132.05 and Mike Rausch placed seventh with 92.90.
Anderson took second place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:14.10.
In the 100 freestyle Pry placed seventh in 1:09.82, Johnson was eighth in 1:09.97, Mickey Cotter took ninth with a 1:11.21, Erikson was 14th in 1:18.70, and Hufford was 15th in 1:20.46.
Reese finished third in the 500 freestyle with a time of 6:06.91 and Dieter placed fifth in 6:50.97.
The 200 free relay A team of Kill, Roberts, Dieter, and Mithun placed fourth with a time of 1:59.37, while the B team of Erikse, Hufford, Pry, and Chris Tiernan was sixth in 2:27.77.
Ericksen placed fifth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:36.92.
In the 100 breaststroke Mithun was sixth in 1:28.55, Mikey Cotter was seventh in 1:31.29, and Pry was eighth in 1:35.04. Kill swam a 1:23.06 which was a 6.4-second drop from his previous time.
The 400 freestyle relay team of Anderson, Cotter, Dieter, and Reese placed third with a time of 59.67.
