Mass of Christian Burial for Sgt. Kurt Elmo Kruize, age 35, of St. Cloud, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 12, 2010 at St. Mary's Cathedral in St. Cloud, for Sgt. Kurt Elmo Kruize who died on Sunday, April 4, 2010. Friends and relatives may call from 4-9 p.m. on Sunday April 11th at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud and also after 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the church in St. Cloud. Parish prayers will be at 5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home and Rev. Bernard Gruenes will officiate. Burial with full military honors will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls.

Kurt was born on June 11, 1974 to Lyle and Beverly (Harstad) Kruize in Morris, Minnesota. He married Billie Jo Rosenbush on July 18, 1998 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waite Park. Kurt worked for Viking Coke as a forklift Operator since May of 2007. He was in the St. Cloud 372nd Engineer Battalion.

Kurt is survived by his wife, Billie Jo and children, Austin, Annabelle, Raven and Tamika, all of St. Cloud; parents, Lyle and Beverly Kruize of Hancock, MN; siblings, Tammy (Collin) Angrimson of Paynesville, Darren (Cindy) Kruize of North Carolina, and Kari (Nathan) Standfuss of Big Lake; sisters-in-law, Bobbie Jo (Jonathan) Paumen of Becker and Bonnie Jo (Terry) Durgin of Becker; in-laws, Robert and Evelyn Rosenbush of Foley; paternal grandfather, Vernon Kruize of Donnelly, MN; maternal grandmother Phyllis Harstad of Benson, MN; grandmother-in-law, Lorraine Fox of St. Cloud; 2 nieces, Torrie Kruize and Makia Durgin; and 5 nephews, Tylor Durgin, Robert, Jonathan, Logan and Ben Paumen. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Florence Kruize and maternal grandfather, Oliver Harstad.
