Shelled corn available for pheasants

The Stevens County Chapter of Pheasants Forever has shelled corn available for feeding pheasants within the county.

Money generated at the annual Pheasants Forever Banquet is used to purchase the shelled corn.

The corn is available at the Stevens County NRCS office, located next to Subway.

The goal is to provide easily obtainable feed for wintering pheasants which allows the birds to avoid long-term exposure to the elements (weather and predators) while searching for food.

One method for feeding the corn is with a pheasant feeder. These feeders can be easily constructed with a barrel and a pallet. Pheasant feeders are the most productive when placed close to winter cover, on the downwind side.

Do not place corn on asphalt roads.
