Sisters lead to win over YME, Tigers stay unbeaten in conference play

Sisters Becca and Beth Holland combined for 23 points to lead Morris Area/Chokio-Alberta to a 53-40 victory over Yellow Medicine East Tuesday at home.

With the win the Tigers improve to 9-4 overall and stay unbeaten in the West Central Conference South at 7-0 (2-0 in the North division).

The Tigers jumped out to a quick lead, building a 15-point advantage by halftime.

MaKenzie Smith scored nine points and had six rebounds, and Tracy Meichsner had four points, 11 rebounds, four assists, and five steals.

"Our turnover versus steal ration still needs to be better, but we really stayed on the boards," said coach Dale Henrich.

YME's Kelly Anderson scored 12 points and Chyanne Sand had 10 points, five rebounds, four assists, and five steals.

The Tigers play the Falcons at Grove City at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
