Studies show that students who don't read over the summer are less prepared for school success in the fall. The Morris Public Library makes summer a piece of cake with the 2008 summer reading program "Look What's Cookin' At Your Library."
The Morris Public Library will offer special entertainment and reading incentives that stir things up at the library. This year's program will run from June 9 through July 5
Here's some of the entertainment and activities planned this summer.
Tuesday, June 10, beginning at 3:30 p.m., the magician "Star" will perform. Following the show, root beer floats will be served.
Tuesday, June 17, magician Jon Adams will cook up some delightful surprises beginning at 1 p.m., and a snack will be served.
Monday, June 23, the Viking Library System is sponsoring storyteller Holly Ristau's visit to the library beginning at 6:30 p.m. Treats from Coborn's will follow the stories.
A final special entertainer will be storyteller Bob Gasche on Thursday, July 10 at 3:30 p.m. Common Cup will provide snacks following his presentation.
No pre- registration is required for these events.
