The Morris Area Sports Boosters have developed a new membership campaign and plan to introduce it at the Fall Sports Kick off on Monday.
In the past, members paid yearly dues of $10. Beginning this fall, individuals and businesses will have the opportunity to choose a level of support.
As booster president Dean Meichsner explained, while some levels of membership will come with rewards, the boosters are not emphasizing these perks.
"The reward is a better athletic program," said Meichsner.
The goal of the sports boosters is to raise money that can be put back into the athletic programs at Morris Area.
"As budgets get tighter, we work with coaches to meet their requests," said Meichsner. "We try to make up the gap between the given budget and what is needed for the program.
"We're supporting all the sports," he added.
In the last two years the sports boosters have invested over $18,000 into the athletic programs.
Along with the various needs of the sports programs, the boosters also have some projects that will benefit a wide variety of athletes and fans.
Those projects include a banner with the school song for the game gym, more "Tiger" chairs for the other gyms, a new indoor batting cage, and a more consistent weight program for athletes.
Besides membership, other major sources of fund raising include Tiger merchandise sales and the sale of discount cards. Both will be available at Monday night's kick off.
