St. Mary's Celebration for Education a success
Jere and Paulette Solvie are outside the front gate of their new "home." Jere Solvie's name was chosen from 980 tickets as the winner of the playhouse raffle during the St. Mary's School's second-annual Celebration for Education on Feb. 23.
St. Mary's Principal Jennifer Grammond called the event "a huge success," with raffle sales of almost 1,000 tickets and 232 tickets sold for a pork and chicken meal at Old #1 Southside.
Local businesses and individuals also made generous contributions to the event's auction.
