Kindergarten: Kinder Class is cool! We have 18 active friends in class this year and we are loving it. Our first two weeks have been action packed. We are learning something new every day, even Spanish. Stop by to see us any day—we love visitors.
Grade 1: We are busy getting into our routine. We are reviewing letter sounds and sight words we learned in kindergarten. We are busy starting simple addition in math and working with shapes and patterns as well. In science we are talking about living and nonliving things. We have learned about bus safety and are starting to learn about rules and laws in social studies.
Grade 2: The second graders are adjusting quickly to our routine and changes for this new year. We are working on the addition facts with sumsto12 right now. We are also reviewing vowel sounds and blending letter sounds to make words. In Science, we are learning about plants and how they grow.
Grade 3: We got off to a good start for the 2013-14 school year. We are reviewing in math and are practicing our addition and subtraction facts. We have taken our first semester AR Star Reading test and did the Aims Web testing this week. On Friday we enjoyed the Shrine Circus in Willmar and thank all the local sponsors that make this trip possible. We hope everyone can attend the Septemberfest at Assumption Church this weekend!
Grade 4: It has been a fantastic start to the school year. We are reviewing mulitplication and division facts in math. We are learning how to make arrays for multiplication. In reading we have read our first story and are learning how to make inferences. We are looking forward to a great school year.
Grade 5 and 6: The 2013-14 school year is off to a great start! We have been reviewing in math a little with multiplication and division in 5th grade and estimating and exponents in 6th grade. We are already in our second spelling lesson for the year and have been trying out spellingcity.com in the lab. We have also been very busy getting ready for the carnival on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 11:00 -1:30 between the church and school during the Septemberfest. We hope to see you there!
