Kindergarten: Wow what a great week we had celebrating our awesome Catholic School! We dressed in different attire all week, the kinder kids really got into that!  The Charity Challenge was a huge success raising lots of cash for a local charity. We did get some work done too this week—we worked with the letter H and the word “are” and finished up our math book, on to book No. 2.

Grade 1:  We had a very fun Catholic Schools week!  We enjoyed bowling and dressing up differently!  We finished up Unit 5 in math with ten groups and teen addition and subtraction.  We are on to a new math workbook next week!  In social studies we learned more about John Adams and the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

Grade 2:  We have had a wonderful time celebrating Catholic Schools Week. The second graders especially enjoyed going bowling and playing Minute to Win It challenges.  We also had a great time visiting the Stevens County Historical Museum.  In addition to CSW activities, we are beginning to learn to recognize the cursive letters. We are even practicing reading words in cursive. Soon we will begin learning to write in cursive. How exciting!

Grade 3: Catholic Schools Week has been lots of fun!  We especially enjoyed bowling and dressing up as our favorite holiday.  Several leprechauns, Santa, a Christmas tree, and Abe Lincoln spent the day in our classroom. We had a classroom medallion hunt that Bobbi found in about 30 seconds.  That usually takes several days to find!  Many enjoyed the supper at Old No. 1 on Tuesday evening and the ventriloquist.  We made cards for our parents to thank them for everything they do for us and for sending us to St. Mary’s School.  We managed to keep reviewing our multiplication and division facts and completed our Treasures 3.1 Reading book.  We played bingo on Friday afternoon and due to the cold weather on Friday we look forward to our rescheduled skiing day at Andes on Feb. 22.

Grade 4: We have had a fabulous time celebrating our Catholic Schools Week! Some of our favorite activities were our Minute to Win It challenges, bowling, and dress up days. In math class this week we learned about angles that form a triangle. We also learned how to classify triangles with vocabulary like right, obtuse, acute, equilateral, isosceles, and scalene.

Grade 5: We spent the week celebrating Catholic Schools Week, and we had a blast. We bowled, dressed up, and we took part in a Charity Challenge to help out some local charities. We also let our parents know how much we appreciate everything they do for us and for St. Mary’s School! In math we are continuing to learn about fractions. We are adding and subtracting with like denominators, and we will then learn how to find common denominators.

Grade 6: We have been having a great time celebrating Catholic School Weeks which has been filled with many fun activities and all sorts of weather.  A few of the events we participated in this week were bowling, Minute to Win It, Charity Challenge, dressed to different themes each day and had a fancy meal on Wednesday.  Also, on Wednesday morning we had an appreciation breakfast for all of our wonderful parents.  Congratulations to Derek Johnson for winning the St. Mary’s Geography Bee!!
