The Runestone Museum has a new house in its Fort Alexandria. The Miltona stage coach log house was moved to the museum Wednesday afternoon. The house was originally built in 1868 by Peter Jerome. The house, known as the "Jerome House," was a rest stop for pioneer travelers. The stage coach log house was donated to the museum by the family of Tomas, Patrice, Kyle and Chad Blank, owners of the Miltona Golf Club. The house will be restored and serve to tell the story of methods of transportation in the early settlement of this area. The estimated cost to move and restore the building is $32,600.
