Starbuck woman killed in crash near Glenwood Monday

a Starbuck woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Glenwood Monday afternoon.

According to the State Patrol, Steffanie Dahlseng, 26, was westbound on Highway 28 when her vehicle spun out on a patch of ice, slid into oncoming traffic and was hit by a semi truck. She died in the crash.

The truck was driven by Phillip D. Peterson, 53, of Glenwood. He was not injured.

After impact, Peterson's truck slid into a ditch and hit an unoccupied vehicle that had gone into the ditch shortly before the fatal crash.

Dahlseng was the news editor for the Pope County Tribune newspaper in Glenwood.

Five other people were killed in crashes near Alexandria Monday. Four women died in a crash on Interstate 94 west of Alexandria, and a local teen was killed in a two-car crash on County Road 82 near Town Hall Road.
