On Tuesday, the Morris Area Stingrays were defeated 90-75 on the road by the Chargers of Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato.

The young Morris team achieved eight season-best times in individual events and a season-best in the 200 medley relay event. Individual highlights of the meet were Stefan Lemke's setting two new Dassel-Cokato High School pool records in the 200- and 500-yard freestyle events, Austin Schieler's section time in the 100-yard backstroke, and both Roy Reese and Gage Anderson established dual season-best times in their respective individual events.


In the 200 medley relay, the team of Lemke (30.36, backstroke), Schieler (38.93, breaststroke), Anderson (37.87, butterfly), and Reese (27.17, freestyle) swam for a Stingray season-best time of 2:14.33. In the JV 200 medley relay, the team of Jacob Erickson (39.86, backstroke), Mickey Cotter (44.91, breaststroke), Vaughn Dieter (49.32, butterfly), and Dillon Morehouse (33.77, freestyle) swam for a time of 2:47.86.

In the 200-yard freestyle, Lemke took first place with a time of 1:50.86 (a new D-C H.S. pool record), while in the JV 200 yard freestyle, Jason Rinkenberger swam for a season-best time of 3:07.72.

In the 200 individual medley, in his first attempt in this event this season, Schieler finished with a 2:34.09, just 0.09 seconds from the section time cut.

In the 50-yard freestyle, Anderson and Dillon Morehouse both finished with season-best times of 29.47 and 33.09, respectively.

Erickson scored 75.35 points in the diving event.

In the JV 50-yard butterfly, Mickey Cotter swam for a season-best 48.20, a cut of 1.67 seconds.

Reese swam for a season-best time of 59.91 in the 100-yard freestyle, while in the JV 100-yard freestyle, Roberto Gameiro swam for a time of 1:25.75 and Dieter cut 3.16 seconds to come in with a season-best time of 1:26.75.

In the 500-yard freestyle, Lemke lowered his own MAHS school record time, and set a new D-C H.S. pool record with a time of 5:08.06. This was the most exciting race of the evening as Lemke outdueled the Chargers' Tom Werner who also finished with a new D-C school record time of 5:08.82. The Stingrays' Anderson also set a new season-best time by cutting 25.51 seconds and coming in with a 6:55.18.

In the JV 200 freestyle relay, the team of Dieter (38.62), Gameiro (35.49), Rinkenberger (34.28), and Morehouse (34.21) finished with a time of 2:22.60.

In the 100 backstroke, Schieler swam for a season-best and section time of 1:10.22, good enough for second place. He was followed by Reese's season-best time of 1:13.17.

In the 100 breaststroke, Mickey Cotter swam for a time of 1:40.15.

In the 400 freestyle relay, the team of Lemke (51.37), Anderson (1:06.39), Reese (1:03.34), and Schieler (58.96) finished with a second-place time of 4:00.06. The JV 400-yard freestyle relay team of Morehouse (1:17.62), Dieter (1:29.84), Rinkenberger (1:26.46), and Erickson (1:09. 88) came in with a time of 5:23.80.
