The Morris Benson Area boys' hockey team was 1-2 this week defeating Worthington in conference action, and falling to Northern Lakes and Prairie Centre in non-league play.
The Morris Benson Area boys' hockey team hosted Prairie Centre Thursday, Jan. 12 at the Lee Community Center. The Storm and North Stars are usually evenly matched, but the Storm did not get the result they were hoping for, losing a disappointing one-sided game 6-1.
Prairie Center scored three times in the first period. The first goal came just 53 seconds into the game, setting the tone for the night. The second goal was a power play goal at 6:14 and another at 9:56.
The second period saw Prairie Center netting three more goals and the Storm continuing to be shut out.
The Storm's only goal came at 7:03 of the third period when Brody Gimberlin was assisted by Riley Blake.
The Storm were outshot 42-27.
Matt Huot was credited with 21 saves on 26 shots and Paden Strutz made 15 saves on 16 shots for the Storm.
