On Thursday, December 12, the Storm made their way to Red Lakes Falls to take a 12-1 loss to the Eagles. Then on Saturday, December 14, a road trip to Luverne resulted in another loss for the Storm, now 0-7 on the year.

Red Lake Falls 12, MBA Storm 1

Landman led Red Lake Falls over the Storm, recording seven goals in the 12-1 win over the Storm on Thursday night.

Red Lakes Falls paced themselves, only scoring two goals in the first.

Adding six goals in the second to put the score at 8-0, the game looked grim for the Storm.

The third period the Storm got on the board with a Taner Gimberlin goal assisted by his right-hand on the ice Lincoln Pahl. The Storm couldn’t match the pace of the Eagles as they added four more scores in the third to take the game 12-1.

Luverne 12, MBA Storm 1

Luvernes’ powerplay goals defeated the Storm boys on Saturday afternoon.

The Storm had 13 minutes in the penalty box, including a five minute boarding penalty in the first, which Luverne took advantage of tenfold, scoring three times. Luverne took advantage of every power play opportunity, ending the game with an impressive six for five-120 percent-on the powerplay.

The fact that Luverne was at full strength all, but two minutes of the game aided to the 12-1 victory as well.

The lone Storm goal came yet again in the third period and by the same duo, Gimberlin from Pahl in 3:48.

The Storm will now take on Prairie Centre in Benson on Thursday, December 19 at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, December 21, the Storm will be hosting Kittson Central in Morris. The puck will drop at 2:30 p.m. for junior varsity, and at 4:30 p.m. for varsity.
