Storm boys suffer shut out
Marshall/Lakeview outshot the Storm 34-26 to hand Morris Benson Area its first shut out of the season Monday at the Lee Community Center.
Mitch Campion made 26 saves for the Tigers in a 3-0 Southwest Conference win.
With the loss, the Storm fall to 6-3 in the conference and 7-10-1 overall. Marshall is right behind the Storm in the conference standings at 6-4 and 9-11 overall.
Brady Valnes returned to the Storm's lineup after missing 13 games with a back injury.
The Storm controlled the action for much of the first period, but the Tigers made the only goal when Shane Kunde scored at the 11:47 mark. Storm goalie Alex Sinclair made four saves in the period, while Campion made 11.
There was a lot of action in a scoreless second period when both goalies were forced to make 14 saves as the game remained 1-0.
The third period was all Marshall/Lakeview. They added two goals, one by James Linstrom and one by CJ Haukom, as they outshot MBA by a 15-1 margin.
