Storm girls finish conference schedule undefeated

Morris Benson Area will take a 13-game winning streak into the girls' hockey playoffs after defeating Worthington 12-1 Tuesday.

The Storm closed out the regular season by finishing unbeaten in the Southwest Conference and 22-2 overall.

As the No. 2 seed in Section 6A, the Storm receive a bye for the opening of the play-off tournament. They will host either No. 3 Fergus Falls or No. 6 Pequot Lakes in Benson, Tuesday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.

The Storm held a 5-1 advantage after the first period and added six more goals in the second, outshooting a winless Worthington 43-6.

Sara Rajewsky netted a hat trick for the Storm. Monica Lindblad, Kelly Mahoney, and Dani Schultz scored two goals apiece. Brooke Anderson, Mariah Hovde, and Caroline Westberg each had one goal.
