Storm girls start season with 11-1 win
The Morris Benson Area girls' hockey team got the season started with an 11-1 win over Redwood Valley Thursday.
Dani Schultz, who scored a hat trick in the first period and finished with six goals and three assists, netted the game's -- and the season's -- first goal with 47 seconds gone in the first.
Schultz is the area's all-time single-season and career goals scoring leader for boys or girls.
Abby Daly added two goals, Sara Rajewsky had a goal and two assists, and Hannah Lindblad and Monica Lindblad recorded three assists each for the Storm.
Sam Falk needed to make only four saves in the MBA goal.
Redwood Valley's Sierra Wagner faced 74 shots on goal, turning away 63.
Kelsey Jones scored the lone goal for the Cardinals.
