Storm girls stay undefeated in conference

Morris Benson Area two goals in each period en route to a 6-1 win over Luverne in girls' hockey action Saturday.

The Storm (7-0, 18-2) stayed unbeaten in Southwest Conference play, while improving to 18-2 overall.

Luverne is 8-2 in the conference and 12-6-1 overall.

Dani Schultz scored a goal just 1:23 into the game to give the Storm a 1-0 lead. Sara Rajewsky made it 2-0 at 4:29.

In the second period, Kelly Mahoney gave the Storm a 3-0 lead with a goal at 4:10. Morgan DeHaan netter another Storm goal at 14:11.

Then in the third, Rajewsky scored with 1:12 elapsed for a 5-0 lead. After the Cardinals got on the board, Schultz added the final Storm goal at 9:03.

Monica Lindblad, Sam Falk, and Brooke Anderson were credited with two assists apiece. Schultz and DeHaan each assisted on one goal.

Brooke Falk had nine saves in the Storm's net.
