The Morris Benson Area girls' hockey team extended its run of wins to nine with a 6-3 victory over Detroit Lakes Tuesday at the Lee Community Center.
Sara Rajewsky notched a hat trick to help the Storm's cause.
Early in the first period, the Storm were penalized for tripping and hooking and the Lakers capitalized with a power-play goal to put them on the scoreboard.
The Storm's Sara Rajewsky answered back just over two minutes later with an unassisted goal. Before the time expired on the first period, Sam Falk netted a goal with assists from Dani Staples and Dani Schultz to put the Storm up 2-1.
Brooke Falk recorded seven saves for the Storm. Detroit Lakes also stopped seven in the first period.
Kelly Mahoney scored a break-away goal on a pass from Sam Falk and Schultz to start the scoring in the second period.
Later in the second period, the Storm were called for covering the puck in the crease and the Lakers scored a penalty-shot goal.
Falk had eight saves for the Storm and the Lakers stopped seven in the second period.
Schultz scored on a pass from Mahoney and Falk midway through the third period. Two minutes later the puck was passed from Katia Vantries to Sara Rajewsky for another Storm goal.
Less than a minute later, the Lakers got the puck past Brooke Falk for a goal.
Sara Rajewsky netted an unassisted goal to end the game and give the Storm a 6-3 win.
Falk had 13 saves in the final period and the Lakers' Goettel stopped 14.
The Storm girls travel to Luverne Saturday and wrap up the regular season Feb. 3 against Redwood Valley on the road.
