Storm girls win in Benson

Seven Morris Benson Area girls scored in Tuesday's 7-4 home victory over Pequot Lakes.

The puck found the net seven times in the first period with the Storm taking a 4-3 advantage.

Sara Rajewsky got the Storm on the board at 9:58 with an unassisted goal.

Less than 30 seconds later Monica Lindblad scored with an assist from Dani Schultz.

Pequot Lakes got one past Storm goalie Brooke Falk to close the gap to 2-1.

Schultz got the two-point lead back with an unassisted goal at 5:21.

With just over four minutes remaining in the period, Pequot Lakes added another goal.

At the two-minute mark Dani Staples scored on an assist from Emily Rajewsky.

Pequot Lakes answered with another goal before the end of the period.

In the second period Emily Rajewsky scored on an assist from Schultz.

Pequot Lakes scored on a power-play opportunity while Sara Rajewsky was serving time in the penalty box for tripping.

Midway through the second period Katia Vantries scored for the Storm on an assist from Emily Rajewsky.

The scoring slowed down substantially by the third period, when the Storm added only one more goal off the stick of Brooke Anderson. Sam Falk was credited with the assist.

Brooke Falk had 14 saves in the Storm Net.

Two Pequot Lakes goalies shared responsibility in the net, stopping 33 pucks.
