Sartell-St. Stephen led the entire way as they eliminated the No. 6 seeded Storm. MBA closes out their season with a record of 11-11-1.

Matt Nahan got the Sabres on the board first with a goal at the 2:56 mark and Austin Plaine scored at 11:15 to make the score 2-0. The Storm then cut the deficit in half when Andreas Siggelin beat Sabre goalie Brent Orndorf with an assist going to Brady Valnes at 12:11. Sartell, however, would tack on a huge power-play goal when Matt Husmann scored with just 9.9 seconds remaining in the period to take a 3-1 lead into the break as they regained the momentum.

MBA goalie Will Johnson had an incredible first period as he stopped 22 shots on goal while Orndorf recorded only two saves.

The Storm continued their defensive style of play in the second period, allowing the Sabres to control the puck and trying to limit them to shots from the perimeter and the strategy worked for most of the period before Nahan got Sartell on the board again with a goal with 4:51 remaining in the period. Things got worse for the Storm from there as Plaine scored again with just 1:03 remaining, and Andy Worzala added another goal just 23 seconds later to make the score 6-1 after two periods.

Johnson was sharp again with 18 saves while Orndorf made seven.

Tyler Hansen scored a power-play goal for MBA assisted by Siggelin just 1:38 into the final period, but the Storm could not draw any closer and the score remained 6-2 until the final buzzer.

Johnson came up with 14 more saves in the third for a game total of 54 while Orndorf made six for a game total of 15.

Sartell-St. Stephen now advances to take on Alexandria in the section semi-finals Saturday in St. Cloud. No. 1 seeded Little Falls will take on Fergus Falls in the other semi-final contest.
