MORRIS – This week, Superior Industries announced its acquisition of GreyStone, a 60-year-old manufacturer of washing, classifying and dewatering systems for the construction aggregates industry.
The purchase adds new products to Superior's portfolio not previously manufactured by the company. GreyStone's name will change to Superior, but the new division will maintain its manufacturing plant in Columbus, Nebraska.
Superior Industries manufactures material handling equipment and components for numerous industries including aggregates, aviation, government, marine, mining, propane and refined fuel.
The 41-year-old company has an employment base of more than 1,250 people in the United States. As of today, 70 percent of those employees are employed at one of three company plants in Stevens County.
