Swan Lake fishermen reminded to avoid research farm

Fishermen planning to try their luck on Swan Lake, north of Morris, are reminded to use the public access for the lake and avoid the Swan Lake Research Farm property.

The farm is leased by the USDA-ARS North Central Soil Conservation Research Laboratory and research is conducted on the farm year round.

However, during the winter, the equipment may not be visible because of snow cover. In order to prevent damage to the testing equipment or research projects, only laboratory staff are allowed to enter the property.

The Research Farm is posted with No Trespassing signs and those who enter without permission are subject to a fine.
