SWCD highlights projects in Stevens County on tour

MORRIS – On Wednesday, June 19, staff from the Stevens Soil and Water Conservation District showed off their work across the county during a conservation tour for local residents.

During the first top of the tour, TSA Area 2 Engineer Ross Reiffenberger explained a project to install stream barbs on the Pomme de Terre River to help prevent erosion.

Other projects highlighted on the tour included personal rain gardens that Stevens SWCD provided as a cost-share to local landowners, water and sediment control basins, and a living snow fence to help prevent blowing and drifting.
