Swift County buys land in Pope County for gravel
BENSON -- Swift County will spend $430,000 to purchase 160 acres of land that will be mined for gravel and used for county highway projects.
In a unanimous vote, commissioners authorized Highway En-gineer Andrew Sander to enter into a purchase agreement with Jorgenson Trust to purchase the land at a cost of about $2,600 an acre.
The property is located in Section 33 of Langhei Township in Pope County, on the northern border of Swift County.
