Talking it over: Time to be thankful
This is the week to be thankful. This week, above all other weeks, we should take the time to offer our thanks for the many gifts we receive throughout the year. They may be big or small, but all worth our thanks.
For a time this fall, I was not feeling very thankful for some of the challenges we had been facing. However, even in the midst of challenges, there are things to be thankful for. We had such wonderful and supportive friends and family members that would top the list. There are also terrific and knowledgeable doctors, nurses and other medical personnel who help in so many ways. Our church family and many people praying for us have been such a help and encouragement.Things are starting to look better and we really do have a lot to be thankful for. Anyone who has their health is fortunate. To have a warm home, food for the table, a job, car, loving family and so many other things we take for granted, is cause for a BIG thank you this week.
I hope each of you will be able to find something, maybe even lots of things, to be thankful for this year. Take a look around you with an open mind and realize how many good things come our way every day. We are truly a fortunate society simply because we live in a free country and have many freedoms we can express each day.
Take time to be thankful this year and carry it through the entire holiday season. And while I am on the subject, thank you to each and every one of my readers, for your support, loyalty and encouragement. You make my job a joy and privelege and I am thankful for you.
